AS Technopolis Ülemiste and Estonian Civil Aviation Administration (CAA) have signed an agreement under which CAA will lease approximately 700 sqm of floor space in the new Bernhard Schmidt office building in Ülemiste City starting from February.
„The relocation of the Civil Aviation Administration to Ülemiste City is adding another prominent state agency in the list of the tenants of the business district,“ said Gert Jostov, Chairman of the Management Board of Technopolis Ülemiste AS. „In developing Ülemiste City, we have always considered proximity to the airport an important advantage in opening doors to international enterprises located in the city district and simplifying communication of businesses with the rest of the world. I am sure that being close to the airport is an entirely logical step also for the Civil Aviation Administration. In the building, CAA will take up 668.6 sqm of floor space, i.e. most of the fourth floor with a view to the airport and to Ülemiste City.“
“Finding tenants for the Bernhard Schmidt office building has been successful, as we expected. By now, more than 98 per cent of floor space is already leased out,“ noted Gert Jostov. „It is understandable that organizations wish to replace their existing premises with new, convenient and energy-efficient space, not only because it helps them to reduce fixed costs. The Bernhard Schmidt office building is one of the best examples in Tallinn of energy-efficient new development, including the use of solar energy in the office.“
„By moving to Ülemiste City we will be closer to our customers and cooperation partners, enabling us to offer them a better service,” said Kristjan Talve, Director General of CAA. „Our current office was located in an centrally located office building that was renovated at the end of 1990s. However, it no longer met our needs for modern office space and, in addition, the owner of the office buildings plans to tear it down and develop a new one on its place. Another reason was that parking in the city centre is getting more complicated and very expensive.”
In the new premises, CAA will continue to serve its clients and partners in same hours, ie from Monday to Friday between 8 am and 4.30 pm. Also the authority’s contact information (website, e-mail addresses, phone numbers) will remain the same.
