Technopolis First in Estonia to Receive LEED Silver for Existing Buildings

Lõõtsa 8A building in Ülemiste campus in Tallinn has been awarded a LEED EB v4 (Existing Buildings) environmental certificate. Technopolis is the first company in Estonia to acquire this certification for having used the advanced, more stringent model v4. The environmental certificate helps, among other things, improve property maintenance, energy efficiency, and satisfaction with indoor air conditions.

“We strive to create added value to our customers with our sustainable operations. We use classification systems to improve our environmental performance and maintenance efficiency. With the help of environmental certifications the environmentally friendly property management can be demonstrated transparently for both our own stakeholders and to customers’ stakeholders. Certificate issued by the internationally renowned third party is an indication of the quality of our work,” says Gert Jostov, CEO of Technopolis Ülemiste AS

LEED EB rating system enables reduction of building’s environmental footprint and improves management of operational expenses. To receive a certificate a building must fulfil a set of environmental requirements, among others, for energy and water efficiency, procurement and waste management. Certificates are awarded by the US Green Building Council. Technopolis now has a total of 28 LEED certified properties.
